Q & A

Q1: What is an airless bottle/jar? What are the advantages?

A: An Airless bottle/jar is a non-pressurized vacuum dispensing system, which utilizes a mechanical pump inside. Once the bottle/jar is filled, the material stored inside is preserved and can maintain its integrity until used up.
Using a conventional pump bottle/jar, when the content inside gets low, the common practice is to remove the pump and try to get the remaining material out with the use of a spatula type of tool. With the repeat opening of the pump and expose the content to air, some product will end up oxidized and loses its effectiveness.
With the airless bottle/jar, the content will be dispensed completely without even once opening of the pump and therefore the integrity of the content can remain stable all throughout its use.
Additional advantage of using an airless bottle/jar -
1) Use less or no chemical preservative.
2) Allow the organic and natural purpose really hit home and to be delivered to the user.
3) The bottle/jar does not need to be sitting up right to pump the content out. In the event of traveling or artist in the field, the content can be dispensed immediately upon removing from storage without waiting for the content to shift and settle to the bottom.
4) The content in the bottle/jar will hold a longer shelf life when it does not come in contact with air.
5) Love the product you have such as foundation and moisturizer but the packaging does not come with a pump. Simply transfer the product into an airless bottle/jar for easy dispensing application.

Q2: What is silk screen printing?

A: Silk screening is the technique of printing where ink is forced through a photographically treated screen onto the container to be decorated. The process applies one color at a time, with a new screen for each color. Silk screen printing produces a clean and elegant look for your beauty logo & artwork. You can feel a nice texture touching the printing surface of the containers.
Silks screen printing is idealized for two or three colors printing (but can print up to 6 colors of your choice). Pricing depends on the number of colors.
Advantages of silk screening for cosmetic packaging:
    - Textures can be applied to highlight graphics
    - Idealized for 2-3 colors elegant design
    - High-speed production
    - Various closures: Plastic, Aluminum, Urea, Phenolic, and more

Q3: What is offset printing?

A: Offset printing (on plastic cosmetic tubes) uses printing plates rather than silk-screens to transfer the ink onto the containers. Offset printing is more precise than silk screening, and is effective for multiple colors labeling (up to 6 colors) and printing halftone artwork. Offset printing is idealized on round containers such as plastic cosmetic tubes. Because plates are engraved for each color rather than making screens, offset printing is more expensive than silk screening. However you can achieve a desirable visual effect for a simple artwork at a reasonable cost.
Advantages of offset printing
    - More precise
    - Idealized for halftone artwork
    - Multiple colors available
    - High-speed production on round cosmetic tubes

Q4: What is hot stamping?

A: Hot stamping is the process of applying a specific colored foil to the surface through heat and pressure. This process produces a shiny metallic print on cosmetic bottles, jars and closures. Gold and silver foils are the most common but other colors are also available. Hot stamping technology produces a striking design for a successful impression. It highlights the logo and artwork with a shiny luxury finish.
